Marie Cameron's Web Page

This page is currently under construction. As time goes on, it will begin to reflect my interests in ecofeminist theology, family history research, and creative writing.

Family History

My current research is into my paternal grandmother's family, the Huband-Smiths, Smiths, Hubands, Jephsons and Martins, in England and Ireland; and also into my maternal grandfather's family, the Bentleys. I am also including assorted material concerning the Camerons.

Ecofeminist theology

I am working in the field of ecofeminist theology which crosses boundaries. That is, it may encompass ideas from Goddess and pagan theologies as well as Christian theology.

This thanksgiving prayer was developed by a small international egroup of women from varying faith traditions, working together.

Following are some services I prepared for small groups meeting in Toowoomba, Australia.

My Writing

J.B.Cameron
The book tells the story of my father's life, with diaries and poems he wrote in the 1930s and his diary from World War II. This is an excerpt from my father's diary when he was working for the forestry at Imbil, Queensland. It shows the isolated nature of his work:

It rained steadily last week from about 8 pm Saturday night till about 2 pm Tuesday, about 11 inches in Imbil. All the creeks were up and we got no work done Monday or Tuesday. Sam Price brought our tucker out in a car over the mountain road to Benstead's Crossing, then loaded it on a horse. We went down to meet him, and felled a tree over Deria near the lower crossing for a footbridge. However, the creeks were going down a bit by then, and he managed to get the horse across. Coming back Eric was swept away at the upper Deria crossing, but managed to get ashore without losing his groundsheet. The last crossing but one, however, was blocked up with logs, and the horse couldn't get across, so we packed the stuff the rest of the way.
