HEALING OUR BROKENNESS
Prepared by Marie Cameron (Toowoomba, Australia) for an Agape Meal in on 1 April 2001.
Welcome
Gracious and loving God,
in whom we live and move and have our being:
we offer our praise for the gift of a world full of wonder,
and for our life which comes from you.
May we always share, rejoicing, the good things of your Creation
and work together for our mutual healing.
Praise be to you for ever!
Hymn: The Song of the Supper
Reading: John 12:1-8
Jesus our friend and brother
we acknowledge our brokenness
and our need for healing
and we ask for your healing grace.
(Pause for reflection)
We are healed and forgiven,
our burdens are lifted.
Friends, let us forgive each other and love one another,
for love is of God.
Let us think of those we know who need healing
and ask for Gods healing grace for them.
(Pause for prayers)
Loving God,
thank you for hearing our prayers.
May we work together for wholeness of your Creation,
In Jesus name. Amen.
And now, remembering Mary of Bethany
who shared generously with you the precious perfume,
we come to share table fellowship
and the bread and wine which sustains our life.
Jesus, you are the Bread of Life
and in eating this bread, we share the power of your life.
You are the Vine
and in drinking its fruit, we share your life outpoured
and your healing and resurrection to eternal life.
(The bread and wine are passed around.)
